Though it’s been complete for a few months, official opening ceremonies were held Friday for the pavilion at Cypremort Point near the Quintana Canal boat landing. The approximately $180,000 project was funded by a state grant and local funds, and as been used regularly by the Sugar Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana for fishing tournaments. Those on hand included St. Mary Parish President Paul Naquin, Chief Administrative Officer Henry “Bo” LaGrange, state representatives Sam Jones (D-Franklin) and Simone Champagne (R-Jeanerette), Iberia Parish President Ernest Freyou and CCA’s Executive Director David Cresson.
