David Ross, 78, a resident of Chauvin, La. and a native of Montegut, La., died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Terrebonne General Medical Center, at 12:08 p.m.

David was a member of the Deacon Board at St. Peter Baptist Church. He was a retired Dozer Operator of Terrebonne Parish Consolidated.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 25, at St. Peter Baptist Church, 669 Hwy. 55 in Montegut, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Bisland Cemetery, 366 Country Drive in Bourg, La.

David leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Susan Jackson-Ross of Chauvin; two daughters, Jamie Ross Bryant and Valerie D. Ross of Chauvin; six brothers, Raymond Ross, Ernest Carter, Bernard Vincent, Nelson Vincent, Bernell Vincent and Herman Carter Jr.; two sisters, Rosa Mae Ross and Ernestine Lewis; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends, all of Montegut.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and three sisters.
