Davis receives MLK Drum Major for Justice scholarship

THE LOUIS A. MARTINET LEGAL Foundation held its Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala in Baton Rouge on Thursday, April 26. Region V of the National Bar Association presented Jada Patrice Davis (above) with the Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice 2012 Scholarship Award. Jada received this scholarship for an essay she wrote comparing the Occupy Movement with the Civil Rights Movement. Along with a monetary award, Jada received a trip to Las Vegas in July to compete nationally. She is the daughter of Ida Borel and Robert Davis and a junior at Franklin Senior High School.
