The rig obstructing the Charenton Drainage and Navigation Canal for nearly 17 months has been towed away to DA & Associates scrap yard in Gibson. LAD Salvage in Stephensville, which performed the salvage operation, floated the 200-by-54 foot rig to the Gibson scrap yard it was sold to for an unknown amount. Harris DeHart, a foreman with LAD Salvage, said the only remaining items onsite in Charenton are a little bit of scrap left on the bank as well as LAD equipment used in the operations.
