LAD Services LLC of Morgan City was working at getting the barge out of the Charenton Navigation and Drainage Canal Thursday. St. Mary Parish President Paul Naquin said they were having trouble with cables snapping, and were searching for a solution. Naquin said confidence was high that the cable problem could be overcome. The barge, which has laid on its side since April of 2010, was purchased by LAD Services at sheriff’s sale.
