Final preparations are being made for the start of school Wednesday. Across eastern St. Mary Parish, work was being done including the laying of crosswalk striping by the City of Morgan City near M.D. Shannon Elementary School, right. Meanwhile, Hattie Watts Elementary School in Patterson took delivery of a swing set Monday, above. It was created and donated by Shane Doucet, the husband of a first-grade teacher at the school.
