ALEXANDRIA – Services will be Friday for Sgt. Christopher Soderlund. He was killed in action on July 9 in Afghanistan.
Soderlund was stationed at Fort Polk.
Survivors include his wife Jessica, a son and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.
Federal judge
BATON ROUGE – Services are pending for U.S. Dist. Judge Ralph Tyson. He died Monday at age 62.
Tyson had been on the court’s bench since 1998 and had been senior judge since 2005.
A graduate of LSU Law Center, he was Baton Rouge city judge from 1988 until 1993 and a state district judge from 1993 until his federal appointment by President Bill Clinton.
