Long-time coroner

DERIDDER – Services will be Wednesday for former coroner, family physician and banker Dr. Etienne Roman Brown. He died Jan. 23 at age 85.

A native of Eunice, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from medical practice in 2000 after 47 years.

He was a founding member of the LSU Medical School Committee of 100 and was coroner of Beauregard Parish from 1971 to 2000. He was a director of City Savings Bank and its board chairman for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife Lou and four children.
