Former police chief

CROWLEY – Services for former Police Chief Harry Courville, Sr. will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 12 at age 76.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Louisiana State Police before serving two terms as Crowley’s chief. He also worked for the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Lafayette.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, a son and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Geesey-Ferguson.

Hospital chaplain

ALEXANDRIA – Services for former hospital chaplain Vincent Giaco will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 12 at age 95.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Ii and a self-employed businessman before becoming an ordained Roman Catholic deacon. He was chaplain at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital from 1983 until 2006.

Survivors include his wife Betty and eight children.

Arrangements are by John Kramer & Son.

Physician-psychiatrist

INDIAN BAYOU – Services for physician and psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Latour, Sr. will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 12 at age 75.

He had a general practice in Kaplan from 1962-1970 before returning to LSU and completing his residency in psychiatry. Since then, he treated patients in both general medicine and psychiatry. He was president of the board of Vermilion Healthcare Center and held the National Guard Medical Corps rank of lieutenant colonel.

Survivors include his wife Roxie; a son; two daughters; a step-son and a step-daughter.

Arrangements are by Delhomme, Maurice.

Dean of Nursing

BATON ROUGE – Services for retired dean of nursing Maureen Daniels will be Thursday. She died Feb. 12 at age 86.

She was faculty member at our Lady of the Lake College for 30 years, retiring as dean of the School of Nursing.

Survivors include her husband A.B., Jr. and three children.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.
