WINNSBORO – Services are Wednesday for award-winning journalist Deidre Cruse. She died Feb. 21 at age 65 at her Plaquemine home. A second service will be in Plaquemine on Friday.
Her journalism life began as a teen affairs columnist for The Franklin Sunwhen she was 13. She later worked for the Monroe Morning World, The Arkansas Gazette and Baton Rouge Morning Advocate.
She worked for a time for Public Affairs Research Council and was governmental reporter for 20 years for The Plaquemine Post/South, winning the Louisiana Press Association award for investigative reporting five times.
Survivors include her mother and a brother.
Arrangements are by Mulhearn.
Long-time engineer
ALEXANDRIA – Services will be Thursday for long-time mechanical engineer C. Scott Yeager, Jr. He died Feb. 27 at age 93.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II (Pacific Theater). His entire career was spent with the architectural business founded by his father, C. Scott Yeager and Associates. It specialized in educational buildings and schools during his working years. He was active in a number of professional and civic organizations and served on the vestry of St. James Episcopal Church.
Survivors include six children.
Arrangements are by John Kramer and Son.
