Former city attorney ALEXANDRIA – Services for long-time city attorney Charles Nunnally, III are pending. He died March 7 at age 62. He was city attorney for 18 years during the administration of Mayor Ned Randolph. Arrangements are by John Kramer & Son.

Former senator MONROE – Services for banker, oil and gas executive and former legislator William Brown, III are Friday. He died March 6 at age 81. He was chairman of Louisiana Bank, co-founder of several oil and gas firms a practicing attorney, a state senator and chairman of the Board of Ethics for eight years. Survivors include his wife Eleanor and three sons. Arrangements are by Kilpatrick.

Baptist pastor WELSH – Services for pastor and Baptist executive the Rev. John Couch will be Saturday. He died March 7 at age 72. He pastored churches in Texas and in Jennings, Welsh and Lake Arthur for more than 40 years. He was a executive board member of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and moderator for the Luther Rice Association. Survivors include his wife Nina, two sons and a daughter. Arrangements are by Matthews & Son.

Demo activist

 SCOTT– Services for businessman and Democratic Party activist Warren Guilbeaux, Sr. will be Saturday. He died March 8 at age 86. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and former owner of Cagle Supply. He was also involved in several other air conditioning and refrigeration organizations. He helped established the leukemia wing at New Orleans Charity Hospital and was delegate to the 1984 Democratic National Convention. Survivors include a son and a daughter. Arrangements are by Delhomme.

Republican activist

 SHREVEPORT – Services for underwriter and Republican activist Edd Fielder Calhoun will be Saturday. He died March 7 at age 80. He operated Pinson-Calhoun Insurance and Interstate Insurance Underwriters. He was active in a number of professional and civic organizations and was active in the state and local Republican Party organizations for 40 years. Survivors include his wife Ann, two sons and a daughter.

Vets advocate

MONROE – Services for veterans advocate Joe Crain are pending. He died March 7 at age 85. He was a U.S. Navy Higgins boat commander in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He and his late wife started the Senior Dance Program at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home and he played a large part in getting the I-20 bridge over the Ouachita River named the World War II Memorial Bridge. Arrangements are by Kilpatrick.
