Anesthesiologist

LAFAYETTE – Services for long-time anesthesiologist Dr. Richard Zepernick will be Tuesday. He died March 10 at age 82.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was president of numerous professional groups during his 40-year practice in New Orleans.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Delhomme.

Rodeo stockman

KEATCHIE – Services for honored rodeo stockman Howard Talley will be Tuesday. He died March 10 at age 66.

He owned and operated Keithville Well Service and Circl T. Ranch, whic provided bucking stock for Professional Bull Riding events across the country. Circle T was the reserve stock contractor of the year in 2011 and had the runner-up bull of the year.

Survivors include a son.

Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.

Orthopaedic surgeon

SHREVEPORT – Services will be Monday for orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Don Joffrion. He died March 7 at age 75.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era and practiced in Shreveport for 50 years.

Survivors include two sons.

Arrangements are by Osborn.

Long-time minister

BASTROP – Services for the Rev. Mary Ethel Oliver will be Monday. She died March 8 at age 81.

She was a minister in Assemblies of God in northeast Louisiana beginning at age 16.

Survivors include her husband the Rev. David Oliver, a son and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Southern, Jonesboro.

Two-war vet, Civil Service official

OPELOUSAS -- Services for retired Navy officer and former Civil Service director Donald Pefferkorn will be Monday. He died March 8 at age 81.

He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and was director of Civil Service in Opelousas after military retirement.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn and four children.

First female State Farm agent

LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. – Services will be March 17 in New Iberia for Catherine Blanchard, the first woman State Farm agent in Louisiana before she moved to Florida. She died Feb. 29.

She was also the first woman State Farm manager in that state.

Survivors include two sons.
