World's oldest Rotarian

ALEXANDRIA – Services for the world’s oldest Rotarian and long-time business and civic leader Roscoe Bolton are pending. He died Sept. 26 at age 99.

He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and had been a Rotarian for 77 years and was chairman of the board of Alexander & Bolton insurance agency until he sold the firm in 2008 to Brown and Brown.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.

Attorney

CARENCRO – Services for attorney Gregory Dean will be Friday. He died Sept. 24 at age 56.

He was an attorney for 31 years and was a member of the Lafayettte Democratic Executive Committee.

Survivors include his wife Tina and three children.

Arrangements are by Sibille of Opelousas.

Engineer, decorated vet

BATON ROUGE – Services for mechanical engineer and decorated veteran John Copes, III will be Saturday. He died Sept. 25 at age 89.

He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for action with the 14th Armored Division in Europe during World War II and held the French Legion of Honor. He was active in a number of professional, military and civic organizations.
