Retired journalist

LAFAYETTE – Services for journalist Clayton Cox will be Wednesday. She died Oct. 5 at age 86.

During her career she was women’s news editor for The Daily Advertiser and a business news writer for The Houston Post. She was also a former reporter for the State Times & Morning Advocate.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol.

Arrangements are by Fountain Memorial.

GOP leader, businesswoman

LAFAYETTE – Arrangements are pending for Republican activist and businesswoman Lorrie Brock. She died Oct. 4 at age 65.

A resident of Morgan City for many years, she was founder and president of Omega Waste Management. She was a leading member of the Louisiana Federation of Republic Women, on the GOP State Central Committee and attended several national conventions as a delegate. She was a member of the Electoral College in 1980 and was on the organizational committee of the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans.

Survivors include her husband Harold and two children.

Arrangements are by Melancon.

Radiologist

VILLE PLATTE – Services for radiologist Dr. Joseph Soileau, Sr. will be Thursday. He died Oct. 7 at age 86.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He practiced general medicine and surgery before completing a residency in radiology. He practiced in Ville Platte for more than 30 years.

Survivors include his wife Lou and three children.

Arrangements are by Ardoin’s.
