Fighter pilot, surgeon

BATON ROUGE – Services are pending for thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. T.W. Christiansen. He died Nov. 7 at age 84.

He was a jet fighter pilot in the Air Force before becoming a surgeon and practiced in Dayton, Ohio, Las Vegas and St. Joseph, Mich. before opening a practice in Baton Rouge.

Survivors include his wife Lois, a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Seale, Denham Springs.

Baking exec

BATON ROUGE – Services for retired baking company executive Glyn Ward, Sr. will be Tuesday. He died Nov. 16 at age 87.

He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was with Wolf’s Sunbeam Bakery for 25 years, retiring as president and chairman of the board.

Survivors include a daughter.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

C.W. Lane exec

SHREVEPORT – Services for business owner and civic leader Emmett A. Sartor, Jr. will be Tuesday. He died Nov. 16 at age 94.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II (North African, Sicily, Italy). He retired as president and chairman of the board of C.W. Lane Co., which engages in management of various oil-gas mineral leases, agricultural lands and commercial real estate development.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.
