Contractor, retired farmer

ROBERTS COVE – Services will be Wednesday for contractor and farmer Leonadrd “Jack” Habetz. He died Dec. 3 at age 74.

He was construction superintendent for E.L. Habetz Builders and was a retired rice and soybean farmer. He was former board member and president of the Acadia Parish Farm Bureau of which he was a member for almost 50 years.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia and a son.

Arrangements are by Geesey-Ferguson.

Retired banker

MARKSVILLE – Services will be Wednesday for retired banker Malcom LaJaunie. He died Dec. 3 at age 79.

He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was with the former Rapides Bank for more than 20 years, retiring as vice president. He was instrumental in establishment of the Avoyelles Fifth Ward Fire Dept.

Survivors include his wife Mable and two sons.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.
