ALEXANDRIA – Services will be Friday for former mayor Carroll E. Lanier. He died Dec. 4 at age 86.
He served one term as mayor and before that was elected commissioner of finance and utilities. He owned Lanier Electric and was executive director of the Alexandria Housing Authority for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife Wendy, a son and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Hixson Bros.
Long-time ob/gyn
ALEXANDRIA – Services for ob/gyn Dr. Willam A. McBride will be Thursday. He died Dec. 2 at age 88.
He was with Physicians and Surgeons Clinic next to Baptist Hospital (Rapides General) in downtown Alexandria and practiced more than 30 years.
Survivors include four children.
