BATON ROUGE – Services for U.S Dist. Judge Frank Polozola will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 24 at age 71.
He was chief judge of the Middle District of Louisiana from 1998 to 2005, taking senior judge status in 2007. Cases he presided over included the criminal trials of former Gov. Edwin Edwards and former LSU football star Billy Cannon.
While enrolled at LSU, Polozola was a member of the 1961 baseball team that won the SEC championship. Outside the bench he was instrumental in establishing the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge and Job Challenge programs.
Survivors include his wife Linda, a son and two daughters.

Former Mobile OIl manager
CARENCRO – Services for retired petroleum engineer Garrett Mayor, Jr. will be Tuesday in Plaquemine. He died Feb. 25 at age 89.
He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired Mobil Oil drilling manager.
Survivors include his wife Lille, two sons and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Wilbert.
Long-time UL-Monroe professor
MONROE – Services for long-time UL-Monroe professor Dr. W. Harper Gaushell will be Friday. He died Feb. 22 at age 68.
He was professor of marriage and family therapy at UL-M for the past 33 years.
Survivors include his wife Bev, a son and a daughter.
