Dora Marie Marcel, a longtime resident of Bayou Vista, born in Morgan City to the late Percy and Maude Duval, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in Patterson at the age of 88.

Dora was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Dora was apostolic; she loved to pass out prayer cards to all she met, and prayed for anyone who was in need. Dora was a great cook, and loved to run the roads visiting family and friends.

Dora is survived by three sons, David Paul Dinger Sr. and wife, Marie, of Morgan City, Raymond Marcel Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Berwick and Danny Marcel and wife, Crystal, of Bayou Vista; and two daughters, Janell Robert and husband, Roger, of Breaux Bridge and Jeanie Sistrunk and husband, Rudy, of Panama City, Fla.

Dora is also survived by sisters, Geraldine Broussard and husband, Lynn, of Katy, Texas, Diane Estay of Morgan City and Delores Robicheaux and husband, Russell, of Morgan City; brother, Murray Duval and wife, Jeanie, of Bayou Vista; grandchildren, Mark Dinger, Troy A. Dinger, David Dinger Jr., Craig Dinger, Troy W. Dinger, Jamie Parvino, Roxanne Patterson, Dorman Sistrunk, Brad Sistrunk, Ryan Sistrunk, Tiffiany Justilian, Christian Marcel, Trampas Marcel, Brooke Falgout, Ken Marcel Jr., Cybil Andorf, Mike Dinger Jr., Kevin Dinger, Amber Herman, Heather Campas, Tobin Dinger and Blake Dinger; and 50 great-grandchildren.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Maude Duval; her first husband, Wilbert Dinger Jr.; her sons, Michael Dinger and Kenny Marcel Sr.; her daughter, Gwendolyn Dinger; her sisters, Rena Drash and Mercedes Fabre; and her brothers, C.J. Duval and Huey Duval.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and continues Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Hargrave Funeral Home at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. Dora will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
