Doris Mae Thibodeaux, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, surrounded by her loving family.
Doris was special to so many people. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt and friend; she lived all of these roles with strength, kindness, love and laughter. She will be sorely missed and always remembered.
Doris is survived by her two sons, Barry and wife Vicki Thibodeaux of Mer Rouge and Kurt and Belinda Thibodeaux of Patterson; three daughters, Elaine T. Cantrell and husband Wade of Berwick, Alice T. Begneaud and husband David of Lafayette and Peggy T. Mayeaux and husband Ben of Lafayette; one sister, Alice Jostandt of Conroe, Texas; eight grandchildren, Kathy LeCompte, Kevin Thibodeaux, Kenny Cornes, John Warner, Seth Warner, Christina Doucet, Steve Thibodeaux and Tyler Begneaud; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Joseph Thibodeaux; her parents, Weston and Althea Landry; one daughter, Nancy Warner; and one sister, Selma Fabre.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, 6-9 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home; and will resume Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the funeral home, 8-10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. Doris will be laid to rest in the Berwick Mausoleum following the mass.
