Work has begun on South Central Louisiana Technical College, Young Memorial Campus’ new 25,000 square-foot addition by mid-June 2012. The proposed addition will tie into the existing facility and house the health occupations, business services, developmental studies and network specialist classes, as well as student services and administrative departments. The driving of more than 400 piles to support the structure has been completed. Carl Blum Architects designed the new building and Aegis Construction is overseeing the construction. The state is funding the new building and renovations of the existing facility at a total of $4.1 million.
