St. Mary AARP meeting was held Jan. 2 at the St. Mary Senior Citizens Center in Morgan City. More than 300 members attended and were treated to chicken and sausage gumbo with potato salad sponsored of Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.

Special guests were Drs. Adam J. Ziegenbusch and Andrea J. Leonards, a husband and wife physician team from South Louisiana Foot & Ankle LLC. They specialize in podiatric medicine and surgery.

In other St. Mary AARP news:

—It was announced that The Petroleum Club of Morgan City has become a Chapter Meal sponsor and will provide three meals in 2012 on the last Tuesday of the month. Other Chapter Meals will be held on the last Monday of each month. For information on Chapter Meals call the St. Mary AARP office at 384-2277 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

—Openings remain for the Defensive Driving Class to be held Feb. 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the office for reservations.

The next St. Mary AARP meeting will be Feb. 6. The meal will feature homemade chili and crackers.
