—Floyd Malveaux Jr., 31, of Grandwood Apartments, Patterson, arrested at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday on Polaris Road in Bayou Vista for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, keeping a disorderly place and resisting an officer by giving false information.
—Michelle Singleton, 28, of Grandwood Apartments, Patterson, arrested at home Wednesday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, keeping a disorderly place, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Agents with the narcotics division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that Malveaux was driving. They located marijuana in the vehicle, which led to the execution of a search warrant at Malveaux’s residence. There, they found hydroponically grown marijuana with an approximate street value of $17,050 and cocaine with an approximate street value of $5,000, hashish and drug paraphernalia in the apartment. Agents also seized $5,325 in cash (U.S. currency), and two vehicles are pending forfeiture. These arrests are the result of a long term investigation by the SMPSO Narcotics Division. Both Malveaux and Singleton were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond has been set.
—Antoinette Ourso Davis, 33, of General McArthur Street, Morgan City, arrested at 1:58 p.m. Wednesday at Wal-Mart in Bayou Vista for theft. According to store security, Davis was observed switching the price stickers on items and then attempted to use a self-checkout terminal. The value of the stolen items is $88.04. Released on a summons to appear in court.
—Mark Mayon, 52, and Cindy Mayon, 50, of Shady Grove Drive, Patterson, arrested at home at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana. Agents conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to use a turn signal, and received consent to search the vehicle. Marijuana was located, which lead to the investigation at the Mayon residence. After receiving consent to search the home, agents located more marijuana. Both were released on summonses to appear in court.
The Patterson Police Department reports the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:
—Jorge L. Rodriguez Galicia, 25, of West Mile Road, Edinburg, Texas, arrested at 1:30 a.m. today for no driver’s license and speeding 80 mph in a 55-mph zone. Paid a $400 fine and released.
The Morgan City Police Department made the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:
—Elbert Ferrer, 25, of McAllen, Texas, arrested at 2:31 a.m. Wednesday for appearing in public intoxicated, simple battery on a police officer and resisting an officer. Remains incarcerated with bond set at $2152.
—James Singleton, 52, of 11th Street, Morgan City, arrested at 9:21 p.m. Wednesday for criminal trespassing and resisting an officer. Incarcerated with bond set at $10,000.
—Latasha Davis, 30, of Glenwood Street, Morgan City, arrested at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday on warrants for red light violation and driving under suspension. Remains incarcerated with bond set at $529.
—John Hanley, 48, of South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, arrested at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday on probation violation for issuing worthless checks. Remains incarcerated with no bond set.
