Jerry Favors, 46, of Second Street in Patterson was charged with simple burglary.
Favors and Shanae Dowsey, 22, of Hickory Street in Patterson were arrested at 10:40 p.m. for the burglary of an Ellis Street residence.
Police were notified after a caller informed the homeowner’s mother that her son’s house was being burglarized, Patterson Police Chief Pat LaSalle said.
Dowsey was charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and accessory to simple burglary.
Both remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
Shantell Gant, 41, of Cleveland Street in Patterson was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at a local pool hall for possession of a Schedule I narcotic (marijuana).
Gant remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
In Morgan City, a Franklin man was arrested on drug charges at a residence in Brownell Homes.
Morgan City Police Department narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at an apartment on Mallard Street.
Demondre Wiggins, 20, Gum Point Lane was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
According to Chief Marc Folse, the warrant was the result of an investigation into narcotics activity in that area.
Upon entering the residence, officers detected freshly burned marijuana in the air and located an ashtray, which contained marijuana, Folse said.
Wiggins admitted smoking marijuana prior to officers entering the home, the chief said. He was arrested and the search continued.
During the search, Wiggins was found in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a bottle containing a large “cookie” of crack cocaine, which had not yet been cut into small rocks, along with a razor blade commonly used to do so, according to the chief.
Wiggins remained in the City Jail this morning with bond set at $75,000.
