Eric Gene “Mitta” Watson Sr., 60, a native and a resident of Morgan City, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at 2:10 p.m., at his residence.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Shirley Watson of Morgan City; three sons, Eric Gene Watson Jr., Brian E. Watson and Blaze D. Watson, all of Morgan City; one daughter, Erica C. Watson-Gaines of Morgan City; two brothers, Jackie Lee Watson and Jerald “Jay” Watson, both of Morgan City; one sister, Joan Ann Harris of Morgan City; three grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents.
