A total of 467 people took advantage of Louisiana’s early voting period for the March 24 primary.

In the last days of the early period, 71 people cast ballots Friday, 28 in Franklin and 43 in Morgan City; while 68 voted Saturday, 34 each in Franklin and Morgan City.

There were 118 mailed ballots returned before the early voting period opened; 29 votes March 10; 38 votes March 12; 37 votes March 13; 48 votes Wednesday and 58 votes Thursday.

The primary ballot features presidential candidates and a position on the Republican state committee.

Polling precincts will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
