Elaine Magdelan Songe, 95, resident of Lafayette and native of Plaquemines Parish, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Elaine was born on March 5, 1916, in Plaquemines Parish, the daughter of Robert and Linda Adams Boudreaux.

Survivors include one son, Bob Songe and wife Susie of Oceanside, Calif.; one daughter, Patricia Wooters of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Scott Wooters, Elaine Brister, Angela Ripberger, Jennifer Bettors and Christina Songe; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Maggie, Chelsea, Sophie, Patricia, Matthew, Anthony and Oliviana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Boudreaux and Linda Adams Boudreaux; her husband, Chester Songe; a great-grandson, Michael Bradley Brister; two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 8-11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Twin City Funeral Home. Elaine will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Elaine’s name to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermillion St. Suite 200 Lafayette, La. 70501.
