Hospital Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Parker Templeton said more than 10 years ago the community “had a vision of building a new hospital for Franklin and the communities that we serve. In August of 2007 that vision became a reality when this new hospital opened its doors.”
Templeton said the design of the medical office facility “took patient and physician comments into mind so that we can create an environment that is centered around patient care activity. We’re really excited to unveil this new medical office building.”
The building is over 13,000 square feet.
“Franklin Foundation has had five solid years since moving into this new location,” Templeton said. “Our financial condition is very sound and we continue to do our very best to provide critical health care services to our community including those that don’t have the ability to pay. We remain committed to providing healthcare services that meet and exceed the expectations of our patients and other customers in an environment of dignity and respect.”
He said the building will allow the hospital to recruit and retain physicians. Construction is expected to be complete by early 2014.
Three physicians, Dr. Donna Tesi, Dr. Stephen McPherson and Dr. Rebecca Accardo will occupy the facility upon completion.
“We’ll also be able to relocate our excellent wound care clinic out of the hospital into some dedicated space in this new office building,” Templeton said.
There is room for three additional physicians, he said.
