NEW IBERIA _ Franklin Senior High School’s Brandon Burdett finished in first place in the Acadiana Golf League match held here Tuesday at the Squirrel Run Country Club.

The four school participating in the Acadiana Golf League match on Tuesday were Vermilion Catholic, Lafayette High School, Carencro High School and Franklin Senior High School.

Burdett led all golfers with a 4 under 40 for first place. Vermilion Catholic’s Chris Oihlier was second with a 42 while VCHS’ Victor Stein shot a 45.

Franklin’s Slade Pontiff finished in sixth place after recording a 52.

The Franklin Senior High School will host the Acadiana Golf League match next Tuesday at the Belleview Country Club. Teams expecting to compete in next week’s match include North Vermilion, Berwick, Patterson, Morgan City and Franklin.
