Howard, who was named the FSHS Player of the game, earned the mound victory after working seven complete innings, surrendering two runs while striking out 11 batters without a walk. Howard also helped his own cause with a 2 for 4 outing at the plate.
Brown earned the “Pete Rose Charlie Hustle” Play of the Game while also going 1 for 3 with two runs and two RBI on the day.
Other top hitters for the Hornets were: Brandon McFarlane, 1 for 5, run; Allen Randle, 1 for 3, 2 runs; Jarion Brown, 1 for 3, RBI, 2 runs; Lane Howard, 2 for 4; B. J. Mitchell, 1 for 1, RBI and Angelo Eave, run.
