Few arrests made overnight in parish

Julie Bailey, 51, of Two Brothers Street, Amelia, was arrested Monday at 11:47 a.m. for simple burglary, unauthorized use of an access card, forgery, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest resulted from an investigation into the burglary of a vehicle in which a check and credit card were taken, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

Through investigation it was learned that Bailey had used the check at Walmart in Bayou Vista and the credit card at several locations. She was arrested and booked into the parish jail with no bond yet.

Also arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office:

—Joshua P. Stewart, 28, of Charlotte Drive, Patterson, arrested Monday at 11:08 a.m. for issuing worthless checks. Issued a summons to appear in court on July 12.

The Morgan City Police Department made one arrest Monday:

—Travis L. Gilmore, 20, of Arlington Street, Bayou Vista, arrested at 10:21 p.m. for careless operation, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Booked and released on bond.
