City crews were working on a water line break at Iberia Street and Friendship Lane this morning. Mayor Raymond Harris said that due to the great volume of water the city is losing throughout the system, the water pressure has been carefully raised to identify leaks, which are being systematically repaired. He said that though the city realizes the inconvenience to residents, it’s the only way to control the problem, find the leak spots and repair them. The mayor also said rumors that the leaks were caused by overfilling water towers in the city system are unfounded.
