FIVE GENERATIONS of Carmen Solar’s family gathered recently. Comprising the generations are, clockwise from seated, Solar of Morgan City holding her great-great-grandson Tate Christopher Martin, her great-granddaughter Lauren Ashley of Franklin, her granddaughter Starlyn Ashley of Patterson, and her son David Solar of Berwick. C. Solar was also recognized by Morgan City Mayor Tim Matte with a “Distinguished Citizen Award” on the occasion of her 90th birthday. She was employed by the City of Morgan City for 28 years.
