The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has Issued a Flood Warning for Evangeline Parish until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the NWS, areas that will experience flooding are Mamou, Turkey Creek, Ville Platte, Beaver, Duralde, and Reddell. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.

National Weather Service Lake Charles Radar indicated that up to 4 Inches of Rain had fallen across the southern portion of the parish, from roughly Duralde through Mamou and Reddell to Ville Platte to the parish line West of Grand Prairie.

Another area of heavy rains, with amounts up to 5 inches, was noted across the northern portions of the parish from Beaver to North of Turkey Creek to the parish line Southwest of Cheneyville.

According to Evangeline 911, Ville Platte and Evangeline Parish have several streets that were closed due to flooding at mid-day. The following streets have been affected.

•Lasalle Street at Tate Cove Road

•Jefferson Street from Tate Cove Road to the Railroad tracks

•Latour Street near Floyd's Record Shop

•Opelousas Road

•Tiger Lane at the intersection of Lahaye Road and McGee Road

Roads that are open and that you can use are:

•Lincoln Road

•North Soileau Street

•McArthur Drive

•Main Street
