Local donations are asked in the area during this holiday season, especially on Dec. 14 during KLFY TV-10 in Lafayette’s FoodNet Food For Families drive.

The event, which will be held from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., features a drop-off location at St. Mary Outreach, 608 First St., Morgan City.

Locals are asked to help this cause by bringing perishable and non-perishable food items and personal hygiene and household items.

Among the items needed are dry food, canned goods, condiments and meats.

Personal hygiene and household items requested include toilet paper, bath soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, paper towels, garbage bags, facial tissue, foils, all purpose cleaners, dish soap, floor cleaners, bleach and laundry soap.

These donations will benefit the needy in the Tri-City area.

This is the 24th year the program has been held.
