The annual running of the Foster/Perry Relays will be held Friday at the J. C. Dry Stadium on the Coach Albert Perry Track and Field beginning at 3 p.m. with the field events.

The running events are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Area teams will be seeking competition with Westgate, Jeanerette, Franklin, West St. Mary, Hanson, Centerville, Patterson and Morgan City headlining this year’s event.

According to reports, Westgate High School has jumpers and sprinters while West St. Mary has one of the state top fieldmen in Jerald Hawkins and high jumper Jontrey Tillman. Patterson should be well represented in the javelin, sprints and relays with Morgan City entering Friday’s meet with loads of talent in the jumps, sprints and relays. The Hanson Tigers will showcase its talent in the distance races while host Franklin should be well represented in numerous events with Cedric Paul in the shot put and javelin along with the relays with Bell, Ruffin, Paul and Rouchon as well as hurdlers Davis and Williams and high jumper Robinson.
