Three organizations in our community are working together to host an evening of the arts in Franklin.
First, Techeland Arts Council will host Une Assemblée de Connaisseurs d’Art (A Gathering of Art Connoisseurs) from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Lamp Post, located at the corner of Jackson and Main streets. Techeland Arts Council will share its purpose, people, pictures and pieces of its production No Hitchin’.
Additionally, artists and patrons will be greeted and entertained by some of Louisiana’s most prominent historical figures at The Lamp Post. These historical figures and their costumes will be provided by St. Mary Landmarks Society.
Second, Landmarks will display political posters of past Franklin elections on the front lawn of Shadowlawn from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The City of Franklin and its Main Street Board invite art connoisseurs to stroll along Main Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the third annual Promenade d’art de Franklin (Franklin Art Walk).
The City of Franklin and the Main Street Board ask that attendees and artists wear white cotton or white linen to the Art Walk. Music by Alfred Hills, Ted Foulcard and Clarence Smith will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until 8:30 p.m.
