Departmental reports include drainage on 12th Street; improvements at both city recreation areas, and a traffic study at the intersection of Carl C. Foulcard Drive and Pine Street.
Ordinances for introduction include changing the speed limit on Hanson Street to 15 mph between Peret and Weber streets from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and setting the tax assessment rates in the city for the year.
There is an ordinance for adoption setting a speed limit of 25 mph on Weber Street from Mechanic Street to Iberia Street. It had been changed to 15 mph while construction was ongoing at Teche Action Clinic. The ordinance reserves the right of the city council to designate different speed limits in certain sections.
The city is also considering a resolution requesting that the Louisiana Department of Insurance reconsider approval of a rate increase by Louisiana Citizens Property Corporation.
Councilman Chuck Autin is slated to discuss garbage collection.
Councilman Lester Levine is scheduled to discuss railroad crossings at Willow Street and Northwest Boulevard.
The council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Iberia Street.
