Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program application sites in St. Mary Parish now include Franklin.
A site in Amelia was announced Thursday.
Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is available for residents who suffered losses from Hurricane Isaac and meet income eligibility requirements.
The Franklin site is located at the Franklin Recreation Center on Gum Street and will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for people whose last names begin with A, B and C.
Other dates for the Franklin site are: D-G, Sunday; H-L, Monday; A-Z on Tuesday and Wednesday; M-R, Thursday; and S-Z, Sept. 21.
The Amelia site is at the Amelia Community Center.
Applications are being scheduled by last name: S-Z, today; A-C, Saturday; D-G, Sunday; H-L, Monday; A-Z, Tuesday; and A-Z, Wednesday.
Applicants should bring identification and proof of residency.
To help expedite the application process, individuals can pre-apply through Tuesday online either at www.dcfs.la.gov/preapply or www.getagameplan.org or by calling 1-888-524-3578, 24 hours a day. When applying by phone, callers should select the appropriate language and then select options 3 and 3.
