The monthly meeting of the Franklin Golden Age Club was held Tuesday, June 19 with thirty members in attendance. Club President Floyd LeBlanc opened the meeting. EmmaDel Broussard said the prayer and Howard Winston led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Anthony Sinitiere was honored as “Father of the Year”. Anthony was crowned by Club President Floyd LeBlanc He was presented a boutonnière and a plaque from the club. The honoree is selected by drawing. Frank Charpentier was last year’s “Father of the Year.”

Voting for “Member of the Year” will be held at the July meeting with the winner to be announced in August.

Club President Floyd LeBlanc announced the Lafayette Golden Age Coronation Ball will be held July 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the U. L. Student Building in Lafayette. Those needing more information may contact Floyd at home or RSPV to Barbara Bordelon at (337) 988-5288. November 4 is the tentative date for the Franklin Golden Age Ball.

Celebrating birthdays in June are Amy Broussard, Sybil Lovell and Wellington Arnaud.

Thanks to Howard Winston and Tom Randazzo for playing music before the meeting. The next meeting will be held July 17 with the club furnishing hot dogs and watermelon.
