The Franklin Golden Age Club held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 21 at the Franklin Recreation Center with twenty-nine members in attendance. Club President Joyce Champagne opened the meeting. Floyd LeBlanc said the prayer and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members enjoyed a meal of hot dogs and watermelon furnished by the club.

Treasurer Floyd LeBlanc gave the treasury report from previous meetings and Secretary EmmaDel Broussard read the minutes.

Elise Breaux was honored as Mother of the Year and was presented with a trophy from the club. Honored as Father of the Year was Frank Charpentier and he was also presented with a trophy from the club. The honorees are selected by drawing.

Voting for Member of the Year will be held at the July meeting. The member selected will be revealed at the August meeting.

President Champagne announced that the club’s fundraiser would be held Saturday, October 8.

Celebrating birthdays in June are Amy Broussard and Wellington Arnaud.

The next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, July 19 and will include a covered dish meal.
