An accident Friday around 5 p.m. slowed traffic outbound from Morgan City significantly.

Eastbound U.S. 90 lanes were shuttered for a time by a three-vehicle wreck caused by a drunk driver in the vicinity of the Siracusa high-rise near Amelia.

While details of the accident were sparse this morning, State Police Troop I Public Information Officer Stephen Hammons said Cuong Tran, 54, of New Iberia was charged with first offense driving while intoxicated and careless operation after he registered a .109 grams-percent on the Intoxilyzer test.

He was incarcerated in the Patterson Jail.

Also involved in the accident were a 2007 Ford F150 driven by Scott LeCompte, 45, of Houma and a 2003 Mazda driven by Brooke Robicheaux, 22, of Lafayette.

No injuries were reported to any of the drivers.
