Eunice native Andre Fruge, who is Louisiana Capital President and CEO, has been named president of Business First Bank’s branch in Lafayette.

He is the son of Anne Fruge and the late Dr. Bernard “Benny” Fruge and is a 1974 graduate of St. Edmund High School.

Fruge will keep his title as president of Louisiana Capital, which is a non-profit Small Business Administration loan provider.

Fruge said he is excited to be part of Business First Bank’s leadership in Lafayette

Business First Bank is headquartered in Baton Rouge, providing commercial banking services in six regions of the state with $650 million in assets and $450 million in loans.

“I’m really excited to be part of the bank’s leadership in Lafayette, and the prospects of adding to something that’s already proven to be successful,” Fruge said.

Fruge has been Louisiana Capital president and CEO for 17 years and has 15 years of commercial banking experience.

He is on the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry and is a member of the boards of Acadiana Arts Council, Lafayette Parish Emergency Medical Services (chairman) and Kiwanis.
