Application deadline has been extended to Friday.
Sponsored by the Louisiana Center for Women and Government, headquartered at Nicholls, the academy is slated for June 10-13.
Academy participants will have the opportunity to network with peers and be mentored by experienced women who will help them develop the knowledge and skills necessary for future leadership roles.
Specific areas of instruction include communication, situational leadership, relationship building, managing peer pressure and conflict, political competence, campaign strategy and public policy awareness.
Themed “Light the Torch and Lead,” the academy includes an annual leadership service project.
A committee of the Louisiana Center competitively selects participants for Women and Government.
The $75 application fee will be refunded if the applicant is not chosen to attend. For applicants chosen to attend, no other fees are required.
