CENTERVILLE LADY BULLDOG Reagan Romero strolls to third base during Monday’s action at Lady Bulldog Field. The Centerville Lady Bulldogs came up on the short end of a 3-2 loss to the Gueydan Honey Bears. Centerville (5-2) will return to action on Thursday, traveling to face Madison Prep in the District 8-B opener.
Centerville slipped to 5-2 on the season with the narrow loss to Gueydan.
Centerville hurlers Ashton Landry and Lacy LaGrange went the distance for the Lady Bulldogs.
Landry started on the mound, working 4 1/3 innings, striking out 3, walking 3, giving up 3 hits and allowing 3 runs.
LaGrange hurled the final 2 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings, striking out 4, walking 4.
Top hitters for Centerville were: Ashton Landry, 1 for 4, single; Rylie Candella, 1 for 2, single; Lacy LaGrange, 1 for 3, single, run; Taylor Saucier, 1 for 3, single, run and Kennan Stelly, 2 for 3, singles.
The Centerville Lady Bulldogs (5-2) will travel to Madison Prep in Baton Rouge on Thursday for the first district 8-B contest.
