The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers evened their District 8-A record at 2-2 with a lop-sided 44-28 league victory over the Gueydan Lady Bears Friday at the Billy Gene Talbot Gymnasium.

Hanson’s Lady Tigers set the tone early, taking a 13-3 first quarter advantage. The Lady Tigers enjoyed a 22-14 halftime cushion. HMS went on a 10-6 third quarter run to take a 32-20 advantage. Hanson’s Lady Tigers secured the 44-28 victory with a 12-8 fourth quarter spurt.

Macie Guillotte tossed in 13 points to propel the Lady Tigers. Guillotte fired in a trio of three-point baskets, along with one deuce and 2 of 2 free throws.

Rounding out the scoring for the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers were: Katie Sonnier, 9; Brittany Broussard, 7; Kim Sonnier, 7; Emily Sonnier, 6, and Olivia Luke, 2.

THE HANSON TIGERS earned their first district win wtih a victory over the Gueydan Bears on Friday.

Hanson (15-9, 2-2) will take to the road to face Vermilion Catholic in District 8-A action on Tuesday.
