HANSON’S KATIE SONNIER make connection on this pitch during Tuesday’s action. The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers defeated the Loreauville Lady Tigers 10-3.
Hanson jumped out to a 2-0 lead after three complete innings before using the seven-run explosion in the fifth frame for a 9-3 advantage. The Lady Tigers added one run in the bottom half of the sixth inning for the 10-3 win.
Hanson pitchers Evelyn Pontiff and Emily Champagne combined on a four-hitter as the HMS Lady Tigers improved to 8-0 on the season.
Pontiff started on the rubber, earning the mound victory after hurling six innings, giving up one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Champagne tossed the final inning, fanning two while giving up only one hit.
Leading hitters for the Lady Tigers were: Mallory Chaisson, 3 for 4, RBI, 2 runs; Brittany Broussard, 2 for 3, run; Katie Sonnier, 2 for 4, RBI, 2 runs; Evelyn Pontiff, 2 for 5; Emily Sonnier, 1 for 2, 2 runs and Paige Diamond, 1 for 2.
Hanson (8-0) will play host to Delcambre on Thursday at 5 p.m.
