Hanson’s Collin Broussard on a pair of touchdowns on runs of 62 and 12 yards while Kole Fluke, Haden Judice and Beau Ancona also hit paydirt to propel the Tigers.
Hanson broke open a scoreless game with a three-yard touchdown from Judice in the second quarter. Drake Rodriguez tacked on the two-point conversion, giving HMS an 8-0 lead. Ancona found the endzone on an 8-yard run, sending HMS outfront by a 14-0 margin in the second quarter.
Fluke, who led the Tigers in rushing with 12 carries for 111 yards for a 9.25 average, scored on a one-yard plunge before Broussard made his presence felt with a 62-yard touchdown to lift the Tigers to a 28-0 advantage following Judice’s run on the two-point conversion in the third quarter.
Broussard polished off the scoring with a nifty 12-yard TD scamper in the fourth quarter, lifting the Hanson Memorial Tigers to a lop-sided 34-0 victory over Catholic High School of Point Coupee.
Hanson (2-0) will take to the road to battle Pine Prairie on Friday.
