NEW IBERIA — The Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers scored a 43-21 victory over the Catholic High School of New Iberia Lady Panthers here Tuesday at the CHSNI Gym.

Hanson’s Lady Tigers led from the opening tip, taking a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Tigers held a 23-10 halftime cushion before going on a 16-0 run in the third quarter for a commanding 39-10 advantage en route to the 43-21 triumph.

Macie Guillotte led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 14 points while Brittney Broussard poured in 11 points and Emily Sonnier tallied 10. Katie Sonnier scored four points with Kim Sonnier and Mallory Chaisson scoring two points apiece.

Allison LeGendre led the Lady Panthers with 14 points.

In junior varsity action, the Hanson Lady Tigers scored a 22-11 victory over Catholic High School of New Iberia.

Leading scorers for HMS were: Lexi Coleman, 10; Sarah Ruiz, 4; Destiny Landry, Olivia Luke, Madeline Weber, Caitlin St. Blanc with two points each.

Hanson’s Lady Tigers will host the Franklin Lady Hornets on Thursday with JV action beginning at 5:30 p.m.
