MONROE – The suspect in the theft of an $1,800 TV from a church wasn’t hard to find.

Police said a man purchased the stolen TV on street for $150 from man wearing a leg brace.

At services earlier Sunday at the church, a man wearing a brace became rowdy and was asked to leave.

After services, the church was left unlocked and when officials returned they discovered the TV gone.

Police said Friendly Cooper, 46, of Monroe admitted stealing the TV, though he didn’t remember selling it because he was, he said, high on crack, marijuana and alcohol at the time.
